Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati Catholic Church came about because of a vision developed by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charleston in the mid - 1990s. At that time the diocese purchased 73 acres in Carolina Forest for a diocesan high school (now St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School) and a future parish; knowing that Horry County's population was going to grow exponentially.
In March of 2020, Bishop Robert E. Guglielmone gave a verbal directive to Father David Nerbun to find a new Catholic Community at Carolina Forest (CCCF) by establishing a Sunday Mass at Seton School. In under three years, CCCF grew 1000% in weekend Mass attendance. This prompted Bishop Jacques Fabre-Jeune to erect the community on February 6, 2023 as Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati Catholic Church (Official Decree).
In July of 2024, Frassati Catholic Church opened the Frassati Hub (215b Ronnie Ct.) for weekday liturgies, activities, and office space. Frassati continues to utilize Seton School (1300 Carolina Forest Blvd.) for Masses on the weekends and Holy Days of Obligation.
On September 6, 2024 Frassati Church purchased 7.75 acres from the Diocese to begin building it's parish campus. To learn more about Frassati's Future, click here.
