Serving at Frassati
Each of the ministries seeks to follow in the footsteps of our patron Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati who became the “man of the beatitudes” through friendship, prayer, and action — living the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.

Funeral Ministry: To bury the dead is a corporal work of mercy. To comfort the afflicted and pray for the living and dead are spiritual works of mercy. This ministry lives those works of mercy by providing hands-on support and compassion for those preparing for the funeral of a family member or friend. We also provide emotional and spiritual support before and after the funeral. Contact Connie Lassiter: [email protected].

Community Outreach Collections: To cloth the naked is a corporal work of mercy. This ministry schedules parish Blood Drives and special material collections (blankets and tarps) on an annual basis. Contact Rose Schaetzl: [email protected].

Grief Share Ministry: Comforting the afflicted is a spiritual work of mercy. This ministry offers a compassionate and safe space for those grieving the loss of loved ones to share their feelings and find support by connecting with others who are going through similar experiences. Parishioner Assistance: To be a joy-filled family, we prioritize caring for our own parishioners. This ministry seeks to pair parishioners in need with parishioners able to fulfill those needs. Contact Mary Ellen Stadelman: [email protected].

New Directions Homeless Ministry: Our patron had a great love for the poor. To feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, and shelter the homeless are corporal works of mercy. We provide and serve dinner to the homeless in Myrtle Beach at New Directions Men's Shelter on the 2nd Tuesdays of the month. Our intercessory prayer teams joins crew that serves the food to pray with the homeless. Contact Joe Phillips: [email protected].

Faith & Political Advocacy Ministry: Frassati once said, "Charity is not enough, social reform is needed." This ministry works with the South Carolina Catholic Conference to bring awareness to social issues and to promote policies and programs that support the life and dignity of every human person from conception through natural death. Nursing Home / Assisted Living Ministry: We provide opportunities for fellowship, joy, and prayer to residents at several local facilities (Brightwater, Indigo, and Reflections). Mass and Confessions (or a Communion Service) are offered almost every other Friday at 11am at Brightwater and Indigo.
